Build It Yourself Agility Equipment

Bar Jump

Equipment
  • Saw, pipe cutter, or sawz-all
  • Drill
  • 5/64" bit
  • Phillips head bit
  • PVC cement
  • Tape measure/yard stick
  • Marker
  • Flat, hard surface
Parts (one complete jump)
  • 3 pieces 48" x 1" schedule 40 PVC (jump bars)
  • 2 pieces 36" x 1" schedule 40 PVC (uprights)
  • 4 pieces 10" x 1" schedule 40 PVC (feet)
  • 6 1" PVC pipe end caps
  • Jump Cups to suit - 2 for each height
  • 2 1" PVC 4-Way Tees
  • #7 x ¾" roundhead or panhead screws (2 per cup)
  • colorful duct/tarp tape
Directions
  1. Insert two 10" pvc pieces (feet) into base of 4-Way Tee
  2. Insert 48" pvc piece into remaining opening of 4-Way Tee
  3. Cap ends of feet
  4. Insert 36" pvc piece (upright) into upright joint of 4-Way Tee
  5. Cap upright
  6. Place wing on flat surface and use tape measure and marker to mark height(s) for Jump Cups
    Height marks should be 1¼" below your desired jump height
  7. Line "sighting hole" in Jump Cup to your height mark
  8. Mark the two hanger holes in the Jump Cup onto your standard
  9. Drill pilot hole(s) with 5/64" bit in the two corner holes
  10. Attach Jump Cup with screws
  11. Repeat steps 1-10 for opposite side, joining uprights with bottom bar
  12. Remove feet, place dab of PVC cement inside openings of the 4-Way Tee base holes one at a time and re-insert feet. Optionally, glue upright into top of 4-Way Tee. Do Not Glue bottom bar if you will ever need to breakdown your jumps for transport
  13. Stripe Jump Bars as desired.
